Dear Friends
Happy Second Sunday of Easter!
On this beautiful sunny day (albeit still very cold), it was wonderful to have the opportunity to join in with the Deaf Church community at St Barnabas Church. It was fantastic to have Revd Gill Behenna lead the service again after many months. At this morning’s service, she reminded us that as Easter People we all have an amazing story to tell and gift people, that is, the resurrection story of our Lord Jesus Christ. Alleluia! Alleluia!
In our afternoon zoom worship, Revd Judy Ashby reminded us to hold a posture of openness in our daily lives so that we can catch glimpses of resurrection stories in our communities. What is your resurrection story today? How will you share God’s ‘good news’ story this week? May we find strength in prayer, scripture, fellowship and friendship with one another this week as we live out our resurrection stories this week.
Many thanks to all who contributed to our worship event on zoom: Brenda Young, our Lay Minister, who led our service; Jaynie, Jenny R, David and Mark (readers), Barbara (prayers), Malcolm (music). Thank you to everyone who came along to this afternoon’s worship event. It is such a blessing to be able to come together as a worshipping community.
In our services today, we took a moment to remember His Royal Highness Prince Philip with a moment of silence and this prayer:-
God of our lives,
we give thanks for the life of Prince Philip,
for his love of our country,
and for his devotion to duty.
We entrust him now to your love and mercy,
through our Redeemer Jesus Christ. Amen.
