Happy Seventh Sunday of Easter!
What a special day it was as Godwin, a young member of All Saints’ Church, was confirmed by Bishop Lee at the Confirmation Service held at the Pattern Church. It was wonderful to witness this ‘next step’ in the faith journeys of all the Confirmation candidates on this joyous and special occasion.
Revd Barbara Sheppard led our online service and offered a reflection from ‘No Ordinary Man’, by Nick Fawcett. This was based on John’s viewpoint from the gospel reading (John 17:6-19). Revd Barbara shared: “Jesus showed his concern for his disciples and not for himself in the upper room, even though he knew what he was about to face. His concern was that they should remain united and pray for each other. It was his dying wish in a way, his last request – that we should stay together: one people, one faith, one God, one benefice.”
Many thanks to Revd Barbara and to all who contributed at our worship event on zoom: Janet, Pam, Henry and Jaynie (readers); Jenny R (prayers) and Malcolm (music). Thank you to everyone who came along to this afternoon’s worship event.
We are an Easter People and Alleluia is our song!
