Art in Church: Mission, Theology and the Beauty of God
Wednesday Evenings in June and July 2022
7.00-8.30 pm
In this series we will look at a range of artwork in churches across the diocese. We will spend some time looking at the art; and thinking about what it has to say for the mission of the church and how we speak of God.
Sessions will include time to look at the artwork; reflections on its artistic, historical, and theological significance; and a short time of prayer with the art.
You are welcome to come to one or all of the sessions:
- Session 1: 8th June St Stephen’s Southmead, Bristol Ascension Reredos
- Session 2: 15th June St James, Dauntsey Doom Board
- Session 3: 29th June All Saint’s Clifton, Bristol Baptistry Windows
- Session 4: 6th July St Barnabas, Gorse Hill, Swindon Mural Paintings
All are welcome!
