About us

Wherever you live in England, you will be living in a Church of England parish. Parishes are the building blocks of the Church of England

We are two parishes: St Barnabas, Gorse Hill, and All Saints, Ferndale.

We are two parishes, but we joined together in a single Benefice in 1994. This means that, although there may be more than one Church of England minister in the parishes, a single person is responsible for the overall life of the Benefice. We often call that person the Vicar or the Rector.

The following pages will give you some information on:

  • Who’s who within the Benefice
  • The history of the two parishes
