We recently visited the Harbour Project, who do amazing work among asylum seekers and refugees. Claire Garrett (CEO) informed us that we, as a benefice, can assist them by preparing “care bags” containing specific items (note below).

To date we have made 10 care bags, including 5 for ladies and 5 for gents. Each one contains personal items, a hand-made red heart and a welcome card with biblical text. Thanks to all who have supported this in any way. Keep on producing ready for the next batch!

How you can help support

  • (a) Knit or sew a bag (half a pillow case size) that can be filled with specific items. See above pictures. For knitting ideas, please speak to Revd Barbara.
  • (b) Provide items for an individual male or female care bag. These are given to welcome new service users at the Harbour Project.
  • (c) Bring in items to the church that can be used to fill in a care bag for a male or female.
  • (d) Other items: Do you have an old bike that can be delivered at the Harbour Project? Also, if you have old phones? If so, please speak to Revd Cathy.
