Dear Friends

Happy Easter! Christ is risen… Alleluia, alleluia!

At our Easter Sunday services we reflected on John 20:1-18. Jesus said to Mary, “For whom are you looking?” This reads in some translations, “Who do you seek?” We have all experienced grief and loss of many kinds, and on many levels over the last 12+ months. As we celebrate Easter this year, in the heaviness and darkness of a pandemic world, Jesus asks each one of us, “For whom are you looking?”

The resurrected Christ offers hope, healing and restoration. The Easter story is a living experience for each one of us as we learn to truly see Christ for who he is and the impact he can have on our lives. We have a hope and a future because of Jesus’ life, death and resurrection. Alleluia, He is risen indeed!

It was a real joy to worship together at our churches in the benefice and at our online service.

Many thanks to all who contributed to our worship event on zoom: Jenny R and Jon (readers), Julie (prayers), Malcolm and Richard (music). Thank you to everyone who came along to this afternoon’s worship event. We thank God for the privilege of worshiping together as a community of believers!

We are an Easter People and Alleluia is our song!

Blessings,
Revd Cathy

Happy Easter!
